MEET OUR TEAM

Tristan Barrett is a junior in high school and is one of our most senior members on the team with this being his third year participating. One of Tristan’s most significant contributions to the team is the coding he has done this and last year. However, he has also worked to design custom parts with our 3D Printer and has been a driver for two years. Whenever we are having a brainstorming session Tristan is always prepared to jump in with creative ideas for us to work with and was crucial to the creation of our system to score minerals in the lander. Besides robotics Tristan also manages balancing playing hockey, soccer, and lacrosse with extra online coursework.

Co-captain, Lead Software Engineer, Lead Programmer

Ana Borg is a junior at Pleasant Hill High School and has been on the team for three years. Ana has learned many skills while she has been on the team, especially how to build something from an initial design to a final revision. She has also learned a lot about clearly presenting Ideas, leadership, and documentation. Ana’s main contribution to the team is building and designing, with scoring the minerals and hanging off of the lander being her main projects this year. Ana is also in charge of our Engineering Notebook by editing, organizing, compiling, and formatting everything that goes into it. Ana is a natural leader and helps establish the tasks that need to be done. She pushes for us to succeed as a team, and also built this website.

ANA BORG

Co-captain, Lead Builder

Benjamin Rodrigues is one of the two new sophomores on the team. Despite his lack of experience, Ben has contributed to the team in many ways. He joined because he wanted to fill some of his ample free time and was interested in robotics. He learned a lot about teamwork and basic mechanical skills. He is often referred to as the “funny man” for his great sense of humor. Ben is interested in design and programming.

Besides robotics, he is known to like watching youtube, reading random things, not talking to people, and looking at memes in his spare time.

Graphic Design, Building, Fabrication

Lara is a freshman at Pleasant Hill High School, and one of our five newcomers to the robotics program, but she has already become familiar with coding, 3D printing, robot building, and robot driving. She decided to join because of the robotics displays she saw during her elementary years. Her main interests and skills are building, coding, and making jokes. When she’s not working on our bot, she can be found playing soccer, basketball, softball, or pulling some fantastic dance moves. Lara contributes both effort and enthusiasm to our team as well as keeping the mood light and the team’s morale up. In addition to this, she can always be counted on to bring Goldfish to every meeting. This is much appreciated.

Liesel Geyer is a freshman at Pleasant Hill High School, and one of the newcomers who joined the robotics team this year. Despite having no prior experience, she joined with a curious mind and is interested in the technology included in the program. Liesel now contributes in the coding of the autonomous program for the robot, The Building, and offers descriptive notebook entries. She is always ready to work hard and is focused on any task that she is given. Her main interest is coding, but she is shifting her work to also incorporate into the building of the robot. Liesel is involved in two other sports-soccer and track-and has a pet cat named Cookie that she loves very much.

Daniel Pavlosek is a sophomore and new to the team. Daniel joined the team because he thought it would be fun after hearing about it. He also got a little encouragement from his parents and does not regret joining the team. He has learned how to use OpenSCAD and the basics of FTC. His major contribution was helping with 3D printing and also helped a little with the test bot. Daniel is interested in expanding his knowledge. He is still exploring his interests but is always willing to offer a helping hand.

Building, 3D Printing

Kaleb joined the team after Ana talked about how cool the program was and at the, time wanted to pursue engineering. Since he joined he has learned a lot about cad and building robots. He focuses on building and designs during projects.
